SIBO & the RIGHT FOOD as medicine

July 8, 2017

It is easy to feel lost and overwhelmed in today’s nutritional world, when there are so many healthy trends that claim to be “good for you”.

I have personally tried many diets but there was always something that my body didn’t agree with and was "not so good for me” after all... I felt like I was playing endless  "whack-a-mole" games with my symptoms with little hope to feel healthy.

I cannot tell you how many times I felt stuck, wanting to collapse crying or felt like I was going around in circles hopelessly.

Then one day it all made sense… I was struggling with SIBO (aka Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) that is little known by the medical world and I jumped in both feet to understand and combat this tricky situation - and found there is even more to it than thought!

What is SIBO?

Long story short: you have (good or bad) bacteria in the wrong place (small intestines) that feed on fermentable fibers and sugars causing a wide range of health issues, some that may not even seem to be digestion related. It is more relevant to many people than they realize.

You see, when bacteria ends up and stays in your small intestines it can lead to malabsorption, digestive symptoms and damage to the intestinal lining. Even when it is treated with antibiotics, the relapse rate is high.

Patients normally find that  with the help of the right diet and herbs they can have it under control, however healing from it takes patience and time. I’m not gonna lie, there are some challenging food limitation but with help it is totally doable and even better - enjoyable!

Since a SIBO diet may not be enough for many, I have added other considerations to my approach, such as allergies, histamine, inflammation, toxicity and hormones.

I'm so excited to tell you that this protocol is coming together as we speak (well, read), but more importantly I'm working on a COOKBOOK to support all of those who are lost in the world of “I have nothing left to eat”.
